TRIADD
CLASSIC ROCK AS IT SHOULD BE
There’s magic that happens when talented musicians who genuinely enjoy each other's company get together to make organized noise. That magic is present in every Triadd performance. Their authentic joy on stage is contagious and picked up by the audience resulting in more fun being had by everyone in the venue.
When’s the last time you saw a cover band perform Life in the Fast Lane by the Eagles, Rockin Down the Highway by the Doobie Brothers, Black Friday by Steely Dan or Dream On by Aerosmith?
Triadd doesn’t play the same songs the vast majority of classic rock cover bands do. They go for the challenging ones requiring expert musicianship coupled with complicated and nuanced vocal harmonies. The result is a refreshing set list of familiar songs you know and love but ‘probably’ haven’t heard live, outside of a concert by the original artist.
If you appreciate classic rock played with passion and precision, look no further than Triadd, you’re gonna like what you hear.

ABOUT TRIADD
*TIM MCGOVERN*
Former lead guitarist, vocalist with JIM PETERICK produced band “CAPTIVE HEART.” He played lead guitar for several years with Chicago based group “JAMBOUY BAND” as well as other northwest suburban acts. Tim brings tons of energy to the “performance table” and his musical work ethic is unsurpassed and a little contagious! You can’t help but love this guy.
Tim plays: Acoustic guitar, electric guitar, lead and back-up vocals.
*JOHN HANKO*
John started playing piano before he started kindergarten, and started studying drums and guitar before high school. He decided at age 16 to focus on playing bass. Around 1980 or 81, he joined a band called Archer with childhood friends Steve Moss and Tim McGovern, but left to relocate to Fort Lauderdale in 1982. He has since played in countless bars and other establishments with dozens of bands over the years, both in the Ft Lauderdale and Chicago areas, as well as a 2 week tour around New York and New Jersey. He has also done quite a bit of studio work. If you can find old obscure recordings by the Jan Lewis Group, The Realm, or Three On the Tree, you’ll hear his work. He has performed almost every kind of music imaginable. In the summer of 2013, he reconnected with his two old friends and former band mates from Archer. Eventually he began to sit in with Triadd, doing occasional shows here and there, and discovered that after 31 years, the old magic from 1982 was still there. He finally joined the band on a full time basis in early 2017.
John plays: Bass and back-up vocals

*PETE GUSTAFSON*
Pete’s intro into playing an instrument happened at the age of 9 when he started playing the flute-o-phone – any of you remember those things? This led to playing the cornet in 5th grade which he played for the next 3 years.
All he wanted to do was go to Hersey High School and be in their award winning band but his parents had other plans and off they sent him to St. Viator High School which was not exactly known for its music program.
Devastated though he was, it pushed him to pick up his brothers guitar. The first chord he learned was a D, (any guitar player knows there’s a lot of place’s you can take a D shape on the neck to make some pretty cool sounds). That was it – he was hooked by the D.
Fast forward to this past February when Pete gets an IM from John Hanko asking if he had time to talk. John and Pete had reconnected 3 of 4 years before via Facebook. They first met 40+ years earlier at St. Viator where they were in bands together. They hadn’t spoken to each other over the ensuing years. Like many post high school relationships, they took separate paths… that ultimately led them here.
They spoke that evening for 1 ½ hours. During the conversation, John and Pete reflected on the fact that since they’d last spoken, they had each raised families and launched successful careers while still maintaining their deep passion for making music.
John shared some happy/sad news. The happy news – he wanted Pete to audition for Triadd, a band he’d been part of for a number of years. The sad news – Pete was being asked to step into the shoes formally filled by Rick Jacobs, a beloved founding member and leader who’d passed away in December.
The band got together for a rehearsal in March and the chemistry between them was instant and electric – this was going to work.
Pete’s been in a couple other bands – most recently with 5th Ave., an all original band led by singer/songwriter Erich Kraemer. They cut a CD that’s got some extremely listenable music on it.
Pete’s other musical outlet is performing as a 2nd Tenor with the auditioned choir Chicagoland Voices. Chicagoland Voices is comprised of 40 + members – a large percentage of which are professional musicians – theatre directors, conductors, music teachers, and performers.
Pete plays: Electric and Acoustic Guitars, Mandolin, Lead and backup vocals
